You are now familiar with three major learning theories--classical conditioning, operant conditioning and social learning. For this blog, identify two different behaviors in your life that can be explained by two of
the three learning theories. Tie the theory to the behaviors as you write.
Remember: Grammar, usage, mechanics, and spelling ALWAYS count.
Example:
1. Social Learning:
My aunt crochets and I wanted to learn how to crochet as well. I watched her closely and
followed her movements step by step. I now know how to crochet. What's
interesting about this is that I am right-handed and my aunt is left-handed. I
now crochet left-handed. This is an example of social learning. I used
observational learning and used my aunt as a model of the behavior I wanted to
learn.
2. Operant Conditioning:
When visiting a friend and having dinner, I tried a food that was new to me. I enjoyed the taste of the food, and I now continue to order that same food. The pleasant taste of the new food was a positive reinforcement, which led to my behavior of ordering that same item.
